Helen Long

After studying Illustration at Falmouth College of Arts I worked as an illustrator and then in magazine publishing in London as a graphic designer for 10 years, returning to painting after my children started school. I currently live in Berkshire with my husband and two sons, working as a fine artist.

I work in oils and my painting style has a strong sense of realism, focusing on the vibrant colours and sense of tranquility within the landscape. Inspiration comes from my love of the countryside and coast, having grown up in rural Dorset. I like to capture the changing light, reflections and colours in nature aiming to create calming and peaceful landscapes and seascapes that provide a sense of escapism for the viewer.
